Some photos just don't look as good with a background in the image . Maybe you took the
photo on a cloudy day and the background is all cloudy , or maybe you just don't like it and
want to start over . Either way , removing the background from a photo is a simple process
that can be done in just a few minutes using Photoshop .

1. Open the photo that you want to remove the background of in Photoshop . You can find
the photo on your computer or in your online photo gallery or you can open one that you
have saved on your hard drive by choosing File >
Open . 2. Once your image is open , select
the Paint Bucket tool from the Toolbox located on the left side of the screen . Then click on
the empty part of the canvas to remove the background from the photo . Make sure that you
select the right color for your background using the Color Picker Tool . For this tutorial , I am
using the color green to represent the background in the photo and the color red to
represent the area that has been removed from the background .
3. Once you are finished selecting the area that you want to delete , press " Ctrl + A " on your keyboard to select all of
the area that you just selected . Then click on the " Delete " key on your keyboard to delete
the background .
4. Once the background has been deleted from the photo , you should have

Adobe Photoshop . There are two common ways to remove an image's background
manually or using computer software . I will briefly discuss both methods and provide step
by - step instructions for each method . Manual Method : The manual method of removing
backgrounds begins with opening the image that you wish to remove the background of in
Photoshop or any other photo editing software . Next , you will need to use either the
Marquee tool or the Lasso tool to select the area that you want to be transparent . Once you
have selected the area that you want to be transparent , you will then need to open the Layer
Panel by clicking on the " Layer " button under the " Window " Menu at the top of the screen .
You will then click on the eye icon next to the name of the layer that has the area you just
selected as the background . Once this is done , you will then click on the " BKGND " button on
the lower left side of the screen to remove the background and replace it with transparency .
